A Brief History of Oakwood
Oakwood Community Church started in San Antonio in 1993 when one family moved here with a desire to start a church that would someday be a major force in God's effort to reach the city for Christ. In January of 1994, Oakwood held its first formal worship service at the Embassy Suites Hotel ballroom with sixty-eight people in attendance. Since then God has blessed us richly and the church has grown and changed considerably. Today, we are actively seeking to be God's instrument to fulfill His plan for San Antonio and the world.
